Networking can happen anywhere! All that's needed is the venue, people, conversation, food. We're adding a new relaxing activity in the mix.

This month we're taking networking to the plants and adding a pot to decorate to a local Birmingham business, House Plant Collective owned by AWIB member Jessica Watts. Networking should be fun, relaxing, inviting, exciting, easy, and festive. As business owners, we always find ourselves in environments that seems more like an office meeting. Throw on some relaxing clothes, bring business cards/flyers, and let those conversations naturally flow. You never know what can happen when we find new ways to bond

MEET JESSICA WATTS

Jessica started HPC in 2020 as a home-based passion project. She had the dream and planned in 2019, and just before launching the business Covid hit. After starting by selling online HPC shifted into pop-up events in a converted school bus. By the end of 2020, Jessica expanded into a brick and mortar store in the Avondale neighborhood of Birmingham.

Jessica lives in Birmingham with her husband and pet cat and dog. When not working, she spends time riding her moped around the city, spending time outdoors, attending live concerts, and visiting local breweries.
